Guide[]
The Wrath of Heaven is a Large Armament, and has the highest damage of any weapon. It functions similar to an unguided missile, and can be detonated via the fire button. The Wrath has a large blast radius and can severely damage your locomotive if you accidentally shoot a wall or piece of debris. Because of this, it is best to pair it with a close range, low heat weapon. To wield the awesome might of the Wrath, a captain needs the following:
- A locomotive with at least 1 Large Armament slot.
- Hearts 65+.
- A Searing Enigma.
- Nightmares 2+.
- Ability to find and kill a Scorn Fluke.
- Large Armament Slot: The Parsival has a large slot, but is generally bad in all other respects. By the time a captain fills the other requirements, they should be able to afford at least an Altanti or Agravain, or possibly a Medea or Moloch.
- Hearts: Captains who wish to wield unbridled power of the Wrath are encouraged to invest heavily in Hearts as they level. Officers and Well-rites can be used to temporarily increase Hearts to allow for earlier access. The Clay Conductor(+6) and Amiable Vagabond(+4) both significantly increase Hearts, and The Rite of the Rack(+10) is very useful as well.
- Searing Enigma: It is possible to find an enigma from destroyed Tacketys or Dreadnoughts, but pretty unlikely. Young captains will probably have to progress a storylet specifically to acquire a searing enigma.
- Visit the Well of the Wolf in Albion, then go fetch a bee for the devil. You may be heading to the Well of the Wolf to acquire the Rite of the Rack anyway.
- Help all of the members of the Inconceivable Circus in The Reach, and attend the new performance.
- Climb the mountain at Lustrum in The Reach, Give the shard to Melusine, bring her supplies, (wood, ammo, glass), then agree to keep the secret or sabotage successfully.
- Progress through Carillon in The Reach and help the various penitents. Once you learn the Secret of the Spirifer, turn them in to the Presiding Deviless. Probing the nature of devil souls gets you an Enigma.
- Visit the Well of Wonders in Eleutheria.
- Buy one from the Cypress King in Pan, Eleutheria, for 1 Moment of Inspiration and 5 Savage Secrets.
- Nightmares: There are a variety of events that occur at high terror that will reduce terror but give you a nightmare. Worlebury-juxta-Mare in Albion is an excellent place to purposefully increase terror by wandering about in the off season. The on-season can be used to reduce terror fairly well too. Once you acquire your wrath, head to Magdalene's to remove the nightmares.
- Scorn Fluke: Defeating a scorn fluke while having nightmares 2+ and a searing enigma will allow you to create a Wrath of Heaven. Scorn Flukes are only rarely encountered in The Reach, but are common in Albion in the white mists near Worlebury and near the Avid Horizon.
