A Hundred Years Hence... is a Sunless Skies Story Event.
Story description[]
...and the doors of Piranesi will open to discharge two strangers. The strangers will blink up at the sky, a welcome sight after the prison's confines. They will not notice how many fewer stars are in the sky than there were a hundred years ago. How could they? This will be the first time they have seen the stars. When they lower their gazes, the strangers will notice each other for the first time.

They will look away awkwardly, as if they were passengers on the Clapham omnibus who had happened to catch each other's eye.

The paths diverge
The strangers will take opposite paths through the gardens. One of them will stop to examine the trapezoidal statuary. The other will walk briskly, with purpose.
Their paths will take them far from Piranesi and one another. Perhaps one will join the board of the Windward Company, by now a venerable institution. Perhaps the other will take up a seat in the Parliament of the Reach. Perhaps one will become a notary, and the other a soldier in the War on the White. Perhaps one will have children. Perhaps the other will not. Perhaps one will be happy. Perhaps they both will. |

| One will greet the other
"Hello," the bolder of the two strangers will say. The other will nod back.

Two paths become one
When they depart, they will take the same path through the gardens, and come together to the rickety jetty at the island's edge.
When the next locomotive calls there, they will both board it. It will take them to London, by which time they will have become friends.
