A permanent strike
Neither words nor actions distract the crew. Their attention fixed on the Poetic Forged Companion, the crew thrusts their fists higher into the air with every word.
Once the recital is over, two members of the crew turn to you, their eyes alight with revolutionary fire. "We won't lift another finger for you," snarls one. "We're getting off at the next port." Meanwhile, the Companion returns to their writing desk, oblivious to the chaos they have caused.

Enchanting verse
Neither words nor actions rouse the crew, and they continue to gape at the Poetic Forged Companion, whose every word beckons them deeper into their stupor. Two members of the crew collapse onto the floor, drooling. It is impossible to rouse them.
The recital ends, but those two crew members remain sprawled on their backs, eyes glazed, lips moving as they silently repeat the Companion's words. They do not eat; they do not sleep. After a few days, they are dead.
