Incarceration is a Sunless Skies Story Event.
Story description[]
"With the lamp chained to your wrist, Piranesi's walls fall away. The prison blooms into an endless, nightmarish forest of bleak and shifting architecture. During tours with the Chaplains, the prison at least adhered to conventional perspective and orientation. No longer. Upstairs, you may find yourself in the cellars. Descending, you arrive at a balcony. Yet no matter how you wander, Piranesi brings you back to the same place: Incarcerated!(infraction_level)"

At last!
Attempting to navigate through Piranesi is like trying to steer a nightmare. Bridges shift beneath your feet, taking you back to where you began. Every corner you turn reveals another mile of identical hallway. You must never, ever trust a staircase.
After seemingly-endless wandering, your shoes are in tatters and your feet blistered. You must be close by now! You simply must be— You stop short, finding yourself back where you started.

After timeless days, your shoes are in tatters and your feet blistered. As you pause, ready to give up, you feel a sudden lightness at your wrist. Your shackles have crumbled, the lamp clatters to the floor. You lift your weary head, and find yourself staring at the exit.

You are fragile as a cobweb
You drift like discarded paper. Piranesi has taken too much from you.
|
|
Nameless, Formless
You wander Piranesi, a floating wisp, for what feels like aeons. Eventually a fellow prisoner takes pity on you and gives you their name and their face, allowing you to squirm to freedom.
Your crew are appalled at your condition. One of them deserts on the spot; how long will the rest suffer your command, in your reduced state?

Your bones are frayed string
Your heart still beats occasionally, erratically, fluttering like a trapped dove. Piranesi has taken too much from you.

|
Nameless, Formless
You are an eviscerated marionette, wandering Piranesi for what feels like aeons. Eventually a fellow prisoner takes pity on you and gives you their name and their face, allowing you to squirm to freedom.
Your crew are appalled at your condition. One of them deserts on the spot; how long will the rest suffer your command, in your reduced state?

Your skull is a hollow egg
Your thoughts are quiet and distant, a whisper echoing across a canyon. Piranesi has taken too much from you.

|
Nameless, Formless
You wander through a fog, remembering nothing, living a second-to-second existence of constant surprise. Weeks pass in an instant. You're gaunt because you've forgotten how to eat, but Piranesi won't let you starve to death. Eventually a fellow prisoner takes pity on you and gives you their name and their face, allowing you to squirm to freedom.
Your crew are appalled at your condition. One of them deserts on the spot; how long will the rest suffer your command, in your reduced state?

Your eyes are crumbling clay
You can only see in greys and blues, and your fingers have retreated shyly into your hands. Piranesi has taken too much from you.
|
|
Nameless, Formless
You wander Piranesi, blind to everything except the whispers and echoes of ghosts that nip at your heels. Aeons pass, or seem to. Eventually a fellow prisoner takes pity on you and gives you their name and their face, allowing you to squirm to freedom.
Your crew are appalled at your condition. One of them deserts on the spot; the rest will plot mutiny, you are sure.

Deep breaths. Calm. There is still a shred of hope. You have not yet changed enough to escape. That must be it. Game note: You cannot succeed at this challenge until you have advanced your Amendment of Self. |
