Spirited Away is a Sunless Skies Story Event.
Story description[]
"Where is it?" snarls a stoker, bashing down your cabin door. "That magician you built out of heaven-knows-what? One of its rabbits left something on my pillow and I'm going to—"
"I am here," says the Illusive Forged Companion. "Come with me if there are matters you wish to discuss; do not trouble our captain." Deflated, the stoker complies.
Days later, the stoker has not reappeared. "They will not trouble you again," says the Companion, when confronted.

Failed event | |
A maze of mirrors
The Illusive Forged Companion has somehow constructed a hall of mirrors in their cabin, despite the locomotive not – to your knowledge – having received a significant delivery of glass. Once inside, you find yourself in a space that appears larger than your entire locomotive. The air is humid, and shivers with a low hiss – perhaps the hall extends to the engine room? You call out, but whether the distant voice you hear in return is the stoker's or merely an echo of your own, it is impossible to tell.
Eventually, you give up, but realise you cannot escape the maze. Every time you approach what looks like an exit, you merely run up against your own face, which appears more and more haggard. Days later you emerge, ravenously hungry. The stoker is never seen again.

A maze of mirrors
The Illusive Forged Companion has somehow constructed a hall of mirrors in their cabin, despite the locomotive not – to your knowledge – having received a significant delivery of glass. You have to crouch to enter, but once inside, you find yourself in a space that appears several times larger than your entire locomotive. The air is humid, and shivers with a low hiss – perhaps the hall extends to the engine room?
You call out to the stoker, but whether the distant voice you hear in return is theirs or merely an echo of your own, it is impossible to tell. Eventually, you give up, emerging from the maze troubled, but unscathed. Your crew member is never seen again.

Never mind
The loss of a stoker is a fair price to pay for not having to delve further into the Companion's dealings.
|
|
Short-handed
The stoker is never seen again. It is irksome that a squabble over rabbit droppings has escalated to such an extent.
