Stations are a type of port. Once discovered, they are marked on the chart with the icon.
About[]
Stations are the bigger and busier type of port in Sunless Skies, containing at least one shop and a bazaar.
They can be recognised easily, as they appear metal with green and red lights. When close enough to one end of the station, your locomotive will dock automatically.
Most ports in The Reach and Albion are stations, but in Eleutheria, several ports are platforms.
There is one major "Hub" station in each region, located in the central circle. Docking at a hub station will reduce your Terror by 30 points, as long as it has been at least 15 game days since the last such reduction. Banks and Prospects are only available at hubs, as are Modules shops (also available at The Royal Society) and Engine Yards (also available at Eagle's Empyrean). Hub shops let you buy Fuel and Supplies, and sell all the other types of Cargo. Hub ports are also the most reliable places to recruit Crew and repair your Hull.
Each station has unique log entries that will display on approach. This also marks the boundary of the port's "safe area", where Terror will neither increase nor decrease so long as you are within it.
