Location | The Reach Albion(very rarely) |
The Tackety pubs buzz with excitement: the development of a new Liberator-class of locomotive is complete! The new engines have already been sighted in the skies, often in the company of the smaller Tackety scouts which use them for refuel and resupply.
Tackety Liberators are lumbering, patchwork locomotives used by the Tacketies. After visiting London for the first time, Ministry Monitors will begin appearing in Albion and The Reach, bolstering the Stovepipes. The Tacketies will begin developing a countermeasure at Lustrum, and upon the project's completion, the Tackety Liberator will appear in The Reach.
Description[]
You gather they are sluggish and heavy, much more resilient than their smaller cousins, the Scouts. A Blistered Engineer claims to have seen one in action, engaging marauders in the paths of Traitor's Wood. "Don't get round the side of 'em," is all he will say. "Unless you like being boiled like a sardine in a can."
Tackety Liberators have a front gun that fires 6(?) projectile that deals 2 damage per hit. Their rear gun fires several shrapnel twice that deals (?) damage total. Their sides are equipped with experimental "fire-belchers" that activate together and deals 10 damage. When they are defeated, they will explode and deal 20 damage to a large area. Unless the player have very low Reputation: The Tacketies, they are initially neutral to the player until fired upon.

Faster than the fire

Head to the fuel stores
You race for the engine room.

You manage to salvage a few barrels of fuel before the flames find them, and hurry back through the gathering smoke. When you reach your locomotive your lungs are scoured, your clothes black with drifting soot.

Make for the supply cupboards
You hear a thunderous detonation from the aft, as the fire overtakes an ammunition store.

With frantic haste, you strip the larders and scour the medicine cupboards. It is a smoky, hurried journey back through ever-rising temperatures to your locomotive.

Look for a gunnery station
One remains in the forward section. You might be able to retrieve its stores of munitions, if you can get to them before the fire.

The inferno
Fire reigns in the ruins of the Liberator. Some corridors are filled with it, spitting and roaring, forcing your boarding party to take other routes as the smoke thickens to a midnight pall. The air is oven-hot.
What do you make for?
|
The fuel stores
You stumble through billows of smoke. Embers sting your skin.

Flames are already clawing their way through the ceiling when you find the stores. Seizing the nearest barrel, you roll it frantically away. Moments later the roof collapses, and the rest of the fuel blooms into a rolling torrent of fire. Your tardier companions are engulfed.

The supplies
You have to take a long route to avoid the worst of the fires.
|
Eyes stinging, lungs burning, you scoop tinned food and medicine into sacks before turning back. But the fire has spread again, forcing you along ever-more circuitous routes. At some point, you lose some of your party in the choking pall of smoke.

A gunnery station
The flames are raging through the aft section of the husk. Can you reach the valuable munitions before they do?
|
While you are lugging a crate of salvaged munitions back to your locomotive, an expulsion of noxious gases engulfs the rear of your boarding party. The fire is too close. You can't turn back.

You could use a few good hands, if any survived.
Game note: Reduce Terror and Gain crew. |
