They ask how you enjoyed the show; and before you can answer, they apologise for their performance. \n\n\"I'm nothing by myself,\" they say. \"Without my twin there to catch me; or there to leap, for me to catch; it's quite dull. But they're trying to break themselves from the Circus again.\"
[1] They stand from their cushion and embrace you, before settling back down. \"It was good to see them while it lasted,\" they say. \"We've tried, in our turns, to leave. But it's never done any good.\"
[2] They do not rise from their cushion to greet you. They don't even look at you, but at a portrait behind you of them and their twin. \n\n\"Come and go,\" they say. \"Here one day, gone the next, but back before you know it; and so will it always go.\"
[5] You find them practising a handstand. They wave at you upside down, balancing on one hand in a surprising display of strength. \n\n\"I wonder how they're faring,\" they say. \"Every time we go out, I like to think we get a bit farther. I do miss them dreadfully though.\""
