embassy_description[]

  • [0] Hybras is a silent, spore-swept ruin. The Blue Kingdom's embassy has taken over the town hall, but it stands almost completely empty. It is occupied only by the Mesmeric Orator, who stands on the balcony and practices speeches to an audience of mushrooms."}}
  • [4] The Blue Kingdom's embassy is a bustle of activity. Most of the town hall's rooms are now occupied, the old rotten furniture has been replaced, and eager employees bustle back and forth with clipboards. The Mesmeric Orator delivers a speech twice-daily, to cheers and applause.
  • [7] The Philosophy has become a talking point across the Reach, and its popularity has been enticing pilgrims to the embassy. They have questions about death, and the Orator has a thousand answers. The ruined village is being rebuilt as more and more visitors decide to settle permanently.
  • [10] A group of musicians sit outside the Blue Kingdom embassy, singing dreamily about the Philosophy. Blue-robed artists are painting a mural on the side of the town hall, of a blue star lighting up the sky. The Orator glides among them, examining their work and praising them rapturously.
  • [13] The Blue Kingdom's embassy is a roaring, heaving hub of activity at the centre of a thriving town. The old houses of Hybras are no longer enough; a dozen new cottages are under construction in an attempt to meet the demand of the constant influx of new visitors. It is a town of scholars, artists, idealists, passionate believers. The Orator hosts daily debates and study groups and singalongs, all dedicated to the Philosophy.
  • [16] The Blue Kingdom's embassy once occupied the humble Hybras town hall, but it has been rebuilt into a grand mansion with windows of azure stained glass. Blue-robed musicians sing the praises of the Philosophy in the street. As you approach the embassy, someone thrusts a pamphlet into your hand. The Orator is in the town square, delivering a speech, cheered on by hundreds of adherents.
  • [20] The entire town now wear blue robes, and the exhausted Orator is delivering sermons ten times a day. More pilgrims arrive daily. The air is constantly filled with hammering and sawing as new houses are built. Rival sects of the Philosophy have even begun to form, along lines so subtle only an expert can trace them.
