The Garden-Rite is a Sunless Skies Story Event.
Story description[]
You try to stand, but you are rooted to the ground. You strain to speak, but your mouth is sealed by bark. You would claw your lips free, but your arms are twisted branches.
The Vagabond sets out two cups, one for you, one for him, and pours a seething mixture from the cauldron into both. He pauses, coughs, pushes his fingers into his mouth; and pulls from his throat the final ingredient: a calcified, knobbly seed. When added to your cup, it hisses.
The Vagabond sits cross-legged, closes his eyes, and sings. The surrounding trees sussurrate in harmony.

With that, the ritual is concluded. The birds resume their song (when did they fall silent?). The Vagabond stands, and begins grimly packing away his paraphernalia. He seems not to have noticed your ruse. Game note: You switched your cup for the Vagabond's, reversing the ritual.
