Actions Requirements Effects Notes
Make a porridge of Verdant Seeds
An exhausting and dangerous task. Their kernels are tough as flint, and the seeds inside prone to sudden, uncontainable growth.
Green fingers
The porridge smells and tastes of mulch. You force it down. You spend the next day writhing in agony as some of the seeds sprout inside you, trying to find viny toeholds in your digestive tract.
Consume a Caged Catch
It has fallen silent. Perhaps starvation has weakened it. Or perhaps it knows what's coming.
Insufficient
For safety, you shoot the thing three times before dragging it from the cage. The you butcher and boil it. The meat is rubbery and laced with sharp, delicate bones that claw at your innards if they aren't picked out. You force down as much as you can. Still, your belly growls.
Eat an Unidentified Squirming Thing
You caught it in the mists near Worlebury. Now, it thrashes weakly in its net.
A little longer
The flesh is mealy and tastes like chalk, but you are hungry enough to force some of it down before you begin retching. It is not a meal. It has only drawn out your starvation.
Eat a Condemned Experiment
Is this to be the miserable end to its cursed existence? Picked clean of skin and gristle to buy you a few more hours of strength?
A meagre conclusion
The cleaver splits the knobbled joints. Nothing is wasted: fat and gristle, skin and bone all go into the pot. The resulting broth is astringent and chalky. It bobs with unidentifiable, chewy lumps. You force them down, gagging. How much longer can you survive like this?
Try to eat some Uncanny Specimens
Hopefully a nugget of nutrition can be gleaned from them.
A grisly meal
The flesh is rubbery and vile, but inside you find small, livery organs. They taste hideous, and will do little more than extend the process of dying.
Eat your dog
Its brown eyes look at you as you approach, unable to even conceive your grim intention. Its tail thumps, feebly, on the floor.
The deed, done
A sad, silent meal. How quiet the engine is, now. How empty.
Eat your rabbit
Improbably, he is still sleek and plump.
As advertised
You finish every morsel, and lick your plate clean of juices. The rabbit was, undeniably, delicious.
Eat your cat
It is curled beside the stove, a scrawny, sleeping thing.
    • Useless Cat ≥ 1 [The Useless Cat is aboard your engine.]

The deed, done
The poor cat furnishes you with a pitiful meal. He was not, it turns out, entirely useless.
Eat your pangolin
Perfection doesn't matter anymore. Hunger is all you know.
The deed, done
You make the end quick. She furnishes you with a salty soup, which you eat gravely.
Eat Dilly
If Dilly can, in fact, be eaten.
    • Dilly ≥ 1 [You have Dilly!]

The deed, done
Catching her is a fraught, frantic process. But eventually she goes like a lobster into the broiling waters of the pot. Her squeals will haunt you, but her meat is fishy and flaky. It will buy you another day or two of slow starvation.
Endure
There is nothing on board that you can, or will, eat.

Game note: Be warned: your Terror will drastically increase, and your Desperation will soar.

Starvation
You are wracked by hunger as your withered, traitorous body feasts upon itself. Hallucinations plague your waking hours, and nightmares ravage your sleep. The end cannot be far away.
